Balmoral Castle, Highland Royal Deeside and Dunnottar Castle

This tour starts at dramatic Dunnottar Castle set on an ancient rock formation high above the North Sea. Learn of its troubled past and hear the secret of the Scottish crown jewels. Take in the fabulous views and look out for passing dolphins and the occasional whale. Orcas have even been spotted along the North East coastline!  A scenic drive takes us over to Royal Deeside where we will visit Balmoral Castle and take a stroll around the lovely gardens and grounds. This is the holiday home of the British Royal Family and one of the late Queen's favourite places. You will see why as we travel through the Cairngorms National Park.  You can lunch at Balmoral's cafe or at the Highland village of Ballater when we stop to visit its old Royal Station.  Enjoy a wee dram with an enjoyable tour and tasting at nearby Royal Lochnagar Distillery set in the beautiful Highland landscape.
