Wonderful tour in Aberdeen.

Our tour of Aberdeen was absolutely fantastic from start to finish! Elizabeth was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly passionate about the city’s history and culture, which made every stop along the way come to life. From the stunning granite architecture to the hidden gems we never would have found on our own, every moment was engaging and memorable. We especially loved the visit to Dunnotter Castle as the timing was perfect and we had the castle to ourselves and the views were breathtaking! The tour was well-paced, informative, and fun, with plenty of opportunities for questions, photos, and exploring. Elizabeth took many photos and shared them along the way. This was a highlight of our trip to Scotland, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. A perfect blend of history, nature, and local insight. Thank you for an unforgettable day in Aberdeen!  Joanne M

An Exceptional Tour with an Excellent Guide

I was wanting to do a heritage tour of the places my mother’s family lived in Aberdeenshire prior to immigrating to Canada. Aberdeenshire Tours was the perfect fit to help me achieve this. Based on the information I provided, Elizabeth did an excellent job of researching my interests and provided me with a customized itinerary. She showed genuine interest in my husband and I and was passionate about connecting me to the places I was wanting to explore. She willingly and patiently adapted the itinerary ‘on the go’. Elizabeth understood the emotions connected to my journey and was respectful of my need to explore and connect to those places. Elizabeth is passionate about her country and it’s history. She provided valuable insights into local culture. The incredible scenery made the day all the more memorable. All in all this tour was the perfect fit.  Daryl M - Canada

Great tour & even better tour guide!

My husband, our two teenagers, and I spent a great day with Elizabeth on an adventure around Aberdeenshire. Elizabeth worked hard to find sights that our whole family would enjoy, and even though we were off season and some places were closed, she thought outside of the box to give us unique experiences that we would have otherwise overlooked. She has a great knowledge and you can tell she is passionate about history, where she lives and the work that she does. As a parent I liked that she didn't talk to just the "adults" but rather she kept engaging with our teenagers in conversations which kept them chatting and laughing about history, literature, TV shows, food or just teenage type things. She quickly became more of a long lost friend than "just a tour guide" and by the end of the day she was part of our family photos. Our teenagers both agree (as do I) that this day long adventure with Elizabeth was the highlight of our spring break trip. You won't go wrong with Aberdeenshire Tours & Ms. Elizabeth.  Kell V

The best day in Aberdeen visiting Castles

We just spent a wonderful day with Elizabeth visiting Dunnottar Castle along with two other castles, Crathes and their gardens and Drum. All were spectacular, but Elizabeth made the day special. She is warm, gracious, and knowledgeable, and she made sure the experience we had was the one we wanted and more. We met as strangers but parted as friends. It is easy to see why her reviews are all so complimentary. She is the real deal! -  Marsha M - Pennsylvania

Lovely Tour Made Even Lovelier by Our Guide

A completely lovely tour that was only made that much better by our even lovelier host and guide, Elizabeth. Beyond a standard tour, Elizabeth was able to quickly get a feel for our group of friends and help create an even more meaningful tour for us. Not to mention, the unexpected surprise of her extremely well-behaved dog MacTavish only made the trip even greater. Felt like we met a friend for life in Elizabeth and hope more great people have the chance to meet her too! Thank you! Jeff B - New York

A “wee dram” of Aberdeenshire to Savor

We had one day and time constraints so Elizabeth packed loads of fun into every hour. She picked us up from our cruise ship and had already checked in with us about our wishes for the day. She fulfilled these and organized some stops we couldn’t have known about unless we were locals. The distillery was interesting! Fun, in-depth stories, a gem of a day.

Fabulous tour and Best Tour Guide

Had a bespoke tour of Aberdeenshire with Aberdeenshire tours. The Aberdeenshire area is just beautiful and would love to go back and see more. Highlight was finding my great grandfather's burial site which wouldn't have happened without Elizabeth.
We reminisced about this tour everyday for the rest of our trip.  I would hire Elizabeth again in a heartbeat if I ever make it back to Scotland. Thank you Elizabeth for a fantastic and unforgettable day.

Highly recommend Elizabeth as your tour guide!

My friend and I took a girls trip to Scotland. We had the absolute pleasure of having Elizabeth as our driver and tour guide while we were in Aberdeen. She picked us up from the train station and helped us get our luggage stored at the hotel before he headed out for our adventure. My friend and I had 2 requests- see Hairy Cows and go to Balmoral Castle. Anything else Elizabeth wanted to show us we were up for. She did not disappoint! When we saw Hairy Cows or Heilan Co  Jos as they are known- she’d stop the car and let us take pictures. She never made fun of how 2 grown woman could get so excited over some cows 😂 Elizabeth took us to Balmoral Castle and we were able to drive right through the Royal Gate (not something everyone can do)She also took us to spots she recommended and we enjoyed every minute of it and the information she shared. We turkey enjoyed our day with Elizabeth. She made us laugh and feel right at home (even if we had trouble pronouncing Edinburgh “correctly”).  Julieann S

Amazing tour!

We had a bespoke tour up the coast from Aberdeen to experience the landscapes and cultural spaces that were home to my wife’s family before they emigrated to Canada in the 1800s. The tour was an incredible mix of a grand country estate, a quaint local pub/eatery (from 1585!) costal views, harbours, a nature sanctuary and ending at the historic University of Aberdeen, St. Machar’s Cathedral and Seaton Park. Elizabeth was a wonderful guide, fabulous storyteller and all round good company. There were no crowds, no lines and we visited places we would not have found on our own. A fabulous experience, excellent value and a great time.  Chris S

Outstanding tour and the best guide

We just spent a spectacular day with Elizabeth touring castles and stone circles and mind-blowing scenery. We got to see things that we had requested plus some real gems that Elizabeth suggested. She is the best guide and truly has become a friend with her stories and history and humour. We felt more like we had a visit with a friend than a tour with a guide. I cannot express how wonderful our day was. I hope that we can come again and spend more time together seeing Aberdeenshire through Elizabeth’s eyes.  CP Hannah - Tennessee

Delightful tour of Aberdeenshire

My family and I had the most amazing day with Elizabeth touring in Aberdeenshire. She accommodated our wish list: Donnottar and Stane Castles, a stone circle and magnificent scenery at the Bullers of Buchan but best of all was Elizabeth herself, so personable and a woman with a wicked sense of humour. We feel we made a friend and hope to see her again. Sandra K - Canada

Balmoral Castle & Scottish countryside
Best day ever! Elizabeth went out of her way to show us exactly what we wanted and more. She exceeded all expectations. Besides Balmoral Castle, she showed us another castle and small town the royals shop in. We loved the hairy coos! Thank you Elizabeth for showing us your beautiful Scottish countryside.  Julie S - Virginia Beach

Whisky, family history and a much loved movie location - an exceptional private day tour

I'm with three of my family members touring Scotland, and we're staying in Aberdeen for a few days. When planning our itinerary, we were keen to see some places that had special significance for members of our group. I sent Elizabeth, from Aberdeenshire Tours, a wish list and she tailored a bespoke tour that ticked off all of the highest priorities on my list. I asked to see a whisky distillery and she took us to GlenDronach for a fabulous tour. I asked if it was possible to visit Fordyce, the small village where my wife's third great grandparents were born. Elizabeth took us there, and we discovered it was one of the most charming places we had visited in Scotland. I asked if we could visit some historic coastal villages and Elizabeth organised a delicious lunch in Cullen and ice creams in Portsoy. And I asked if it was possible to visit a place that I've long wanted to see - Pennan, the beautiful coastal village where one of my favourite films, Local Hero, was shot. Elizabeth took us there, and allowed me to tick off one of the items on my bucket list. Getting to visit each of these places made the whole day one of the best we've had in all of Scotland, and on our way home Elizabeth went out of her way to take us to the street in Old Aberdeen where my wife's ancestors once lived. The bonus, for us, was that Elizabeth was an absolute delight to travel with. She was personable, knowledgeable, considerate and witty. She would stop the car whenever we wanted a photo stop and she often took the photos so we could be in them. In my opinion, this is what a great day tour should be - personalised, interesting, informative and fun. If you're planning to visit this part of Scotland, don't hesitate to send Elizabeth a message, like I did, and ask her what is possible. She'll make sure you see the very best of this wonderful part of the world. Very highly recommended.  Garry C Melbourne, Australia

Best tour guide in Scotland

It was our first time to Scotland and Elizabeth made our trip the most memorable trip, ever!! She ensured that we saw the best castles, ate the most delicious food and enjoyed the amazing sights! Elizabeth added last minute stops to make sure Rachel saw Highland Cows and that we all made it to Mass on time! We originally booked two days , but were so pleased that we booked her for a third day! If you want to make memories in Scotland, than Elizabeth is your person!! We invited her to Texas for a visit , but it might be too hot in Houston for her!
